Opening of the OCOP Product Connection Forum in the Mekong Delta

On the evening of April 28, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Agriculture and Rural Development) coordinated with the People's Committee of Dong Thap province to organize the Opening Ceremony of the OCOP Product Connection Forum in the Mekong Delta with the theme "Linking" development together - Dong Thap 2022".
Attending this event were 32 provinces and cities with more than 350 booths of organizations, production and business enterprises, cooperatives, craft villages, production facilities, and trade promotion organizations across the country...

The forum is a series of events to strengthen cooperation and linkage between provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. Through activities at the Forum is an opportunity to promote, introduce and build an impressive image, features, potentials, and strengths of OCOP products, agricultural and rural tourism. The highlight of this Forum is the exhibition space of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta and Northern provinces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam said that the One Commune One Product - OCOP Program was implemented synchronously, and widely and had a strong spread to 63 provinces and cities. Up to this point, the whole country has more than 7,400 OCOP products with 3 stars or more from over 4,000 OCOP subjects. Of which, cooperatives account for more than 38%, enterprises for nearly 26%, production establishments and business households for more than 33%, and the rest are cooperative groups. The highlight of this Forum is the exhibition space. products of the Mekong Delta provinces and provinces and cities across the country. Organize an exhibition of contested products and honor winning products at the typical OCOP product contest in the Mekong Delta in 2022. Within the framework of the forum, there are also seminars and conferences to connect OCOP products.

In addition, there were also activities including a seminar on market development orientation of OCOP products, community tourism services, and tourist attractions in the Mekong Delta region; seminars on solutions to promote e-commerce for OCOP products, and many trade connections activities between provinces and cities; businesses and producers…

During the days of the OCOP Product Connection Forum in the Mekong Delta, experts, OCOP subjects, consumers and state management agencies will sit down to assess the overall picture of OCOP in the region. as well as find solutions to promote the development of this product in the near future. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Mekong Delta region ranks third in the country in terms of OCOP products. Dong Thap and Soc Trang are in the group of 10 provinces and cities with the highest number of OCOP products in the country.

The OCOP product connection forum in the Mekong Delta will take place until the end of May 3, 2022.
