Established in 1978, STAPIMEX has run as the Seafood Exporter and Processor and always is one of  top Vietnamese seafood companies, especially in black tiger shrimp industry. Products of the company are appreciated by customers and always are their priority choice as the results of good, safe and stable quality. Since the year of 2003 the company has successfully applied traceability system until farms. With this achievement, STAPIMEX becomes the pioneer in handling Fresh and Safe raw materials.

Since the begin of 2006, the company has played as the joint stock company and fully named as SOC TRANG SEAFOOD JOINT STOCK COMPANY.

In attempt to assure food safety, STAPIMEX does not purchase raw materials without traceability, not being tested antibiotics prior to buying.

All raw materials lots purchased are traced until ponds and area of harvesting, each raw materials supply resource has its own traceability code including pond number, farmer, harvesting area and following the supplying resource code.

Purchasing area is mainly from Soc Trang, accounts for 80%, the rest 20% are from Bac Lieu and Ca Mau ( of which mainly from Bac Lieu).

Raw materials is purchased mainly from:

  • Contracted farms: Achieve 750 hectas, accounts for 60% of total purchasing quantity annually. The company contracts with farmers to support finance, feeds or chemicals used for aquaculture. In exchange, the farmers are responsible for providing diary feeding notes for the company if necessary and guarantee not to use any chemicals or antibiotics banned by the ministry of fishery in the process of feeding and assure sanitary requests in accordance with the company’s regulations during preservation and transportation after harvesting. The company will expedite to take samples for banned antibiotic testing within 5 – 7 days prior to harvesting.
  • Non – contracted farms: account for 30% of total purchasing quantity annually.Prior to harvesting, farmers will contact the company and at that time people of Aquacultural Investment Department of the company will come to survey and to contract for purchasing. The farmers have the responsibility to provide diary feeding notes, feeds and chemcials lists for the company to check if necessary and guarantee not to use any banned antibiotics during the process of feeding. Prior to harvesting within 5 –7days the company will take samples for antibiotic testing.
  • Suppliers: Only account for 10% of total purchasing quantity annually. These suppliers are audited by the company and meet conditions of food safety assurance. Raw materials from this supply source is sampled for antibiotic and microbiology tests when its arrival of the factory.
