1. History:

Under implementation of the Resolution no.05/NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee in order to continue arranging, refreshing and improving the efficiency of State Businesses. On April 02nd, 2014, The Board of Directors of Vietnam Southern Food Corporation promulgated the Decision no.54A/QĐ.HĐQT. Accordingly, some subsidiaries of Long An Food Corporation have been merged into Agricultural Mechanics Construction Factory. The subsidiaries included: Specialty Rice Processing Factory, Infrastructure Investment and Real Estate Enterprise,  Binh Tinh Food Purchasing and Processing Station and Transport Team was chosen to implement the equitization plan.

2- Business Capability::

2.1- Foodstuff:

 a. Exporting Foodstuff:

In order to perform Food Export and Import function, Mecofood owns a modern and professional system of warehouse and factory to meet the demand of Food purchase, storage and processing. Details as below:

·        Warehouse capability: 20.000mts.

·      Processing, polishing and milling system capacity: 100.000mts per year.

·                          Modern production line which can process all kind of rice to meet the demand of all markets.

   We annually has competency to purchase, process and export 100.000mts rice on average. Our rice products have been reaching domestic market and foreign markets easily both by land and by sea.     

  b. Domestic Foodstuff

   We owns the brand “Rice Bowl” with various products: Long An Fragrant Specialty Rice, Tai Nguyen Specialty Rice; Vietnamese KDM Rice; Viet My Rice (Vietnam – America); Viet Dai Rice (Vietnam – Taiwan); Safe Rice; Common Rice; Specialty Glutinous Rice which are famous over the country and trusted by domestic consumers. The products have been voted as “Vietnamese High-Quality Products” for many years and also won Golden Cup and medal for Favorite brand name voted by consumers. Additionally, the brand products has been certified as “Quality product safe for community health” by Food Hygiene and Safety Department – VIETNAM BEST FOOD the organizer. 

     Besides, we also own product line of Safe rice and Common Rice: the Rice is cultivated from paddy fields chosen by Dong Thap Muoi Agricultural Research and Development Center to apply its clean rice growing project. The products have been inspected by Southern Plant Protection Drugs Testing And Inspection Center. For this product line, we also have the Certificate proving it to have been manufactured and under the quality control of food safety management system in compliance with HACCP standard approved and certified by TQCSI.

3- MECOFOOD has advantages to develop our business:

3.1- Our advantages:

- We are owning team of skilled and experienced technicians.

- We are experienced in leading the company, our business activities; especially for food business which is inherited from Long An Food Company management.

- Our company is a member of Vietnam Food Association and a subsidiary of Vietnam Southern Food Corporation (with 51% capital). Hence, we have a huge advantage on the outputs: factory building, mechanics products and especially food and packaging products are assigned consumption target according to proficiency and production capacity.

- Besides, we are authorized by Vietnam Southern Food Corporation to borrow money from domestic commercial banks to purchase rice for storing.

- Consumer Markets: Mechanics construction, Fresh Concrete, Foodstuff, Packaging and handicrafts all have its own stable consumer markets. Specifically for mechanics construction and Foodstuff, the consumption has been showing bold increase every year and giving a sign of strong and solid development in future. Additionally, food commodity domestically consumed has its own reputation when entering and presenting at many prestige supermarkets as Co.opmart, Metro, Ho Chi Minh City Cooperative Alliance

3.2- Our opportunities :

- We have lots of opportunities to explore and develop markets for our each business field, specifically:

                + Food market : Big potential to develop both domestic and foreign market for rice commodity since this is not only food security commodity of not only Vietnam but other countries, specially Asian, African and Latin American countries.

                + Mechanics Construction market :  the consumer demand for food processing machines is very huge and shows quite stable development tendency, typically the demand of Vietnam Southern Food Corporation member firms.

                 +PP bag market : is also stable. Although the speed of development would be slower, our company is in the priority list of Vietnam Southern Food Corporation and assigned the consumption target for PP bags serving for rice export.

                + Handicrafts market: : Produced from young rice and yellow straws with over 100 product codes.

                + Fresh concrete market:  : will be not only stable but also expanded when we have successfully established our own brand and when people tend to use fresh concrete instead of concrete slab finishing by hand.
