VOV.VN - Vinamilk, the nation’s largest dairy producer, recently imported more than 1,000 dairy cows from the United States in order to send to a new organic cow farming resort complex based in Xiengkhouang province in Laos.

The shipment was directly imported from the US , with the cows then being transported by road to Xiengkhouang province.

Originally established back in 2019 and built at a total cost of US$500 million, the organic cow farming resort complex sprawls over 20,000ha and is home to a total of 100,000 cows.

So far, the site has almost been completed and makes use of advanced technology whilst meeting relevant European, American, and Japanese organic standards. As a result, it is ready to welcome the first 1,000 dairy herds.

These newly-imported cows are all purebred dairy cows from Holstein Friesian (HF) which are registered with the HF American Dairy Association and have complete pedigree information for up to three generations.

Moving forward, the herd is expected to produce an average milk yield of over 10,000 litres per head each year, equivalent to between 38 and 40 litres per day.
