On March 19, 2019 in Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee (Vietnam) and the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) held a ceremony to launch Bac Luan Bridge II at Mong Cai international border gate.

On the morning of April 2, 2019, talking to Customs reporters, Deputy Manager of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch (Quang Ninh Customs Department) Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga said that there were more than 100 import and export declarations through Bac Luan Bridge II on average, accounting for 50% of the total declarations at the Branch.

Currently, the Branch receives and handles customs procedures for about 40 to 50 businesses per month

Bac Luan Bridge II has more than 10 enterprises doing import and export procedures.

Nga added that since the Bac Luan Bridge II was officially launched, import-export enterprises have saved time because the bridge is specialized for goods clearance procedures.

Not all vehicles passing through this area are affected by the traffic regulations due to the absence of immigration passengers.

The warehouse and yard areas are large, facilitating with loading and unloading.

Previously, the area of centralized inspection point could only accommodate 6-7 vehicles to load and unload goods. The new centralized inspection point can accommodate 18 vehicles.

The centralized inspection point is equipped with a crane and cargo lifting equipment helping to reduce the time enterprises spend conducting procedures by about 1 hour.

Currently, many enterprises have opted to conduct their imports and exports through Bac Luan Bridge II. The Customs Branch has taken many measures to attract more enterprises, particularly enterprises importing heavy equipment, Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga added.
