VOV.VN - Approximately 190 firms have put their products on display at a supporting industry exhibition which kicked off on October 28 in Hanoi.

The event, organised by Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade, aims to help local enterprises improve their capacity and participate in the global supply chain in terms of manufacturing components and spare parts. These activities will largely take place in industries such as electronic components, automobile and motorbike assemblies, textile and garments, footwear, and high-tech industries.

The event also provides businesses with the chance to meet like-minded firms and seek greater trading opportunities.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Dam Tien Thang, deputy director of Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade, stated that developing supporting industries would serve to create products that have a high level of competitiveness. In addition, it will help to establish a connection network among multi-national companies, foreign-invested companies, and local businesses.

First launched in 2017, the Hanoi supporting industry exhibition created 3,000 trade exchanges worth up to US$4.5 million in 2017, and the corresponding figures rose to 4,000 trade exchanges and roughly US$5 million in the following year.
