In July 29, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - the new Central Office of Rural Coordination held a press conference on the Conference on summarizing 10 years of new rural areas in the Northern mountainous region.

Accordingly, the Conference was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the People's Committee of Hoa Binh Province in Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh Province from March 2, 8, 2002. The conference was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

Speaking at the press conference, the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasized that the Northern mountainous region has made great progress to meet the new rural standards. Phase 1 summarizes 5 years of new rural implementation, this area has not been 100 communes because some criteria such as malnutrition and stunting have not been implemented yet. By the end of June 2019, the northern mountainous area had 603 / 2,280 communes (26.45%) recognized as meeting the new rural standards (up 18.34% compared to the end of 2015), no longer under the commune. 5 criteria. It is expected that by the end of 2019, it is likely to reach 28.0% of communes meeting new rural standards.

The conference will also focus on proposing orientations and solutions for new rural construction in the post-2020 period at village and hamlet levels and developing community-based tourism for the northern mountainous region.

In preparation for communication before the Conference, the Central New Rural Coordination Office organized a field press mission in Son La province, which is one of the typical localities of agricultural restructuring. associated with building a new countryside in the Northern mountainous region. Time begins from July 30, 2002. The actual trip will focus on the following contents: Experience in building new rural villages and hamlets in highland areas in the northern mountainous areas; The model of integrated production development in the value chain is associated with the One-to-One (OCOP) Commune Program in extremely difficult communes; New rural construction is associated with restructuring agriculture on the basis of applying scientific and technical advances and promoting regional advantages; Developing community tourism models associated with preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in the Northern mountainous region.
