Export of FDI enterprises accounted for nearly 70% of total export turnover

In the first 4 months of 2019, the export value of FDI enterprises reached nearly 55 billion USD, up 4.3% over the same period last year and accounting for nearly 70% of the total export value of Vietnam.

According to the latest report from the General Department of Customs, after one third of 2019, the total import-export turnover of the whole country reached nearly 158 billion USD, an increase of 8.7% over the same period last year.

In particular, the value of export goods reached 79.24 billion USD, up 6.5% and imports reached 78.48 billion USD, up 10.9%.

Notably, the total value of imports and exports of enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI) in April 2019 reached 25.45 billion USD, down 10.1% compared to the previous month.

In the first 4 months of 2019, the total value of import and export of FDI enterprises reached nearly 100 billion USD, up 5.6%, equivalent to an increase of 5.32 billion USD compared to the same period in 2018.

In particular, export of this sector in April reached 13.87 billion USD, down 14.1% compared to the previous month, bringing the export value of this sector in 4 months of 2019 to 54.92 billion USD, up 4.3% over the same period last year.

Thus, the export value of FDI enterprises alone accounted for nearly 70% of the total export value of the country.

In the opposite direction, the import value of FDI enterprises in April 2019 reached 11.59 billion USD, down 4.8% from the previous month.

For 4 months, the import value of this sector reached 45.07 billion USD, up 7.2% over the same period in 2018.

Import value of FDI enterprises also accounted for 57.4% of the total import value of the country.

From the above figures, according to the General Department of Customs, the trade balance of FDI enterprises in April 2019 had a surplus of 2.28 billion USD.
