In the jubilant atmosphere in the early days of the New Year of the Pig 2019, businesses are excited and expect a successful year. Therefore, they have embarked on their production and business activities.

Operating activities through Tet

Vietnam has increasingly integrated, the Free Trade Agreements have been implemented, and enterprises have also seized opportunities to promote their import and export activities, which has been becoming a key channel of enterprises’ revenue. Traditionally, Tet is a long holiday in Vietnam, but in order to meet the orders, some businesses still worked, even signed contracts up to millions of dollars with partners in the early spring days.

At Hoa Sen Group, during Tet holiday, its factories in the whole country still arranged a number of production lines to ensure uninterrupted production and business. Mr. Tran Ngoc Chu, Standing Vice Chairman of the BOD, stated that the key chains in the factories in the whole country still operated, the departments continued arranging personnel for Tet to ensure the production and sales, especially export activities during Tet holiday.

Thus, on the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year (i.e. February 5, 2019), Hoa Sen Group signed a contract to export 4,300 tons of steel worth 3.7 million USD to the Americas. This beginning was very much expected by the enterprise because in the fiscal year 2017-2018, Hoa Sen's export revenue exceeded 538 million USD, up 27% compared to the previous fiscal year; Hoa Sen's galvanized steel export volume accounted for 37% of Vietnam's steel industry export turnover in 2018.

Also at the beginning of New Year, Hanoi Trade Corporation - Joint Stock Company (Hapro), a member of BRG Group, also "launched" by exporting agricultural products with a total value of nearly 5 million USD, equivalent to 200 containers of rice, cashew nuts, coconut, pepper, cinnamon, ceramic handicrafts... to markets including the US, Netherlands, Japan, Australia, Israel... At the same time, it also opened all domestic business systems, supermarkets, and convenience stores. This activity promoted the Hapro's strategy, which is increasing export turnover, striving that by 2020, the proportion of export turnover will account for 80% of the Corporation’s total revenue.

Hope from the new field

Most Vietnamese enterprises are small and medium-sized, so it is important to look for business opportunities, expand investment and improve product quality. Many enterprises said that in the New Year, they would pay more attention to improve the added value for their products, investment in brand promotion, connecting with partners ... to be able to compete with other domestic and foreign companies in the same field. Therefore, a new direction, a new way, or just new machinery and a new production method will also be useful for businesses to achieve these goals.

Selecting a new direction, which is completely different from the existing field of the enterprise, Mr. Chu Van Trong, Deputy Director of Ha Nam Mineral Import and Export Joint Stock Company said, the company has invested in an artificial stone factory, different from the traditional plastic bag production field. Therefore, the company has invested in a machinery line worth up to 4,000 billion VND. This system has been tested and expected to officially go into operation after Tet. With this new production line, Mr. Trong expected that it would contribute half of the company's revenue in 2019, because the search for partners in Europe and America is now completed and stable.

Sharing about the reason for choosing this new field, according to Mr. Chu Van Trong, the field of manufacturing and exporting plastic bags has become stable with customers’ belief and trust, so he wants to find other products to maintain, increase the brand value and revenue. To do this, the company has a plan of studying the market, seeking partners early to ensure stable and sustainable output for the product.

It can be seen that these are typical examples of production innovation activities by Vietnamese enterprises today. In order to do this, businesses must have innovative thinking, "dare to engage", even accept risk to invest. However, just like the new spring - a spring full of energy and a successful belief of the country, all businesses hope to have success, convenience and favourable development.
