Agricultural Exports Top US$22.2 Billion in Jan-Jul

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said Vietnam earned US$2.85 billion from exporting agricultural, forest and aquatic products in July, totalling US$22.2 billion in the first seven months of 2018, up 7.8 per cent year on year.

 

Specifically, agricultural exports were estimated at US$11.6 billion in the reviewed period, up 3.6 per cent year on year; seafood shipments were valued at US$4.63 billion, up 6.3 per cent; livestock exports were projected at US$310 million, up 3.8 per cent; and forest products brought home US$5.03 billion, up 12.3 per cent.

 

Major advancers in the first seven months of 2018 included rice, vegetables, key forest products and seafood.

 

Strong-growing markets comprised of Indonesia (rice, coffee and rubber), Russia (coffee and cashew nuts), Germany (tea, cashew nuts, pepper and rubber), Malaysia (rice, tea, woodwork, fruits and vegetables), the Philippines (rice and coffee), Saudi Arabia (tea), Iraq, Hong Kong (rice), the US (rice, tea, cashew nuts and pepper), India (rubber and pepper), and Thailand (vegetables and seafood).
